Once you've downloaded an eBook, you need to add it to your iTunes library and copy it to your iPad or iPhone. Open iTunes and select the Books library. Open the folder where you downloaded the eBook and drag the eBook file from that folder to the iTunes Books library. The next time you sync your iPad or iPhone to your computer, the new eBook will be copied to your portable device.

If you are using an Apple device (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) using a web-browser, you can download an ebook in PDF or ePub format protected with Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) to the Apple device using the Bluefire Reader app.
Using an Apple device, navigate to the EBook Central ebook using your web-browser. When you are reading the ebook online in the Online Reader click the small download icon up top. The ebook will then be automatically downloaded to the Bluefire Reader app. You will then be able to read the downloaded ebook on the Apple device for the checkout period you selected (from 1 - 7 days).
The process outlined above does not require the intermediate step of downloading the ebook to Adobe Digital Editions and then transferring from there to the Apple device as is possible via the process outlined in the box below. Thus the process is greatly simplified.
Select your preferred checkout period and click Checkout & Download. The ebook will be added to the Checkouts area of the folder. The Ebooks on EBSCOHost ebook will then be automatically downloaded to the Bluefire Reader app. You will then be able to read the downloaded ebook on the Apple device for however long the download period was which you selected.

Assuming you have downloaded and installed Adobe Digital Editions on your computer and have added the Bluefire Reader app to your Apple device, and authorized both with the same Adobe ID, you will be able to transfer ebooks to your Apple device via iTunes.
