When talking about the best live streaming software for Mac, Ecamm Live is one of the most popular at the moment. Having many functionalities built-in, Ecamm Live comes at very decent pricing per month. And with a 14-day free trial period, it's a great service to at least consider when choosing your live streaming program for Mac.

These are just a few of the questions that often come up in the live streaming community. Dropped frames, low stream quality and disconnects are usually related to connection issues. According to this article, for 4K video streaming, an upload speed of 25 Mbps is recommended. If you don't have that, you could contact your ISP and upgrade your plan, try on another streaming server, restart your network equipment - more in this comprehensive troubleshooting guide.

Since here at Speedify we help live streamers from Twitch and other platforms improve their broadcasts, we always want to know exactly how much our service helps content creators. So, we put Speedify to the test with Ecamm Live. Below are the results we got from testing and how you can enhance your live streams.

There are many online reviews and discussions where streamers agree that Speedify helps their live streaming. But we wanted to test it ourselves and see exactly how much it does that. Especially now, when we have the brand new Speedify protocol in place.

Then, we tested using the bad Wi-Fi connection, which should be similar to any public Wi-Fi you may be using to live stream IRL, for example. In this case, things really improved when adding Speedify and mixing that bad Wi-Fi with a cellular connection - that's a 125% improvement on the average bitrate.

When you open up Ecamm Live for the first time, you're asked to create an account to start the free 14-day trial. If you have a built-in webcam and microphone, you could potentially start live streaming then and there.

Like other apps in the market, it's both a software-based switcher and streaming encoder, but there are a couple of things that makes Ecamm Live unique. First, it's Mac only. Second, it's clearly made with simplicity in mind. Oftentimes, that comes at the cost of power, but while it can't do everything that a professional video switcher can do, it can do more than most churches are doing with their live streams, like switching between multiple video sources and superimposing pre-made graphics, videos and text on those sources.

Due to its simplicity, Ecamm Live seems perfect for single- or even multi-camera live streams of other events and content besides just worship services. For example, it could be great for a pastor sharing a mid-week update with the congregation from his or her office. Other events include business meetings or group counseling sessions that could be easily produced with Ecamm Live.

In sum, Ecamm Live appears to be an easy-to-use and relatively powerful production platform for any church that wants to expand its reach. If your church wants to take a simple live stream and inexpensively make it more professional by adding multiple cameras, graphics, logos or pre-produced videos, try it free at www.ecamm.live. And for a special discount, use promo code CHURCH10.

In case you are wondering why I need to have 2 tools for a live stream (I sound like a spoiled digital brat) and here's why. Streamyard has the option to multi-stream to multiple locations which Ecamm Live doesn't offer at the moment (although they are working on this). Here are a few other features I love about using Ecamm Live.

There are other tools that I like to have in my live streaming arsenal, like the Elgato Streamdeck XL, the Logitech BRIO webcam, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the Shure MV7 mic. You can find all those tools and more in my Live Streamers Kit

We created this app demo video for our pals at ecamm for their excellent live-streaming Mac app, ecamm live. Utilizing some stock video and video provided from some popular YouTubers, plus some fun music and 3D animation, HiLo Media and the client were happy with the outcome. See all of our videos for ecamm here.

We use Ecamm live and ordered two 20x-ndi cameras that just arrived. We are very excited to begin using these cameras but are having a lot of difficulty with Ecamm Live "seeing" them as NDI sources. We have the cameras connected via a POE switch and assigned static IP addresses. We can access the camera through a web browser and control them both through the browser and with the PZTOptics Mac control app but we can't view anything through them. The "live" plug in doesn't work on the browser and Ecamm doesn't see any ndi cameras available. Ecamm's site says it is possible that an NDI HX driver might need to be installed on our Mac (a mini running on Catalina) Anyway, a bit frustrated as we spent two hours last night with an engineer, a computer programmer, and a school IT guy and we can't get this thing up and running :)

It is possible they won't show up right away in Ecamm or Video Monitor (part of the NDI tools) after the driver is installed. Sometimes NDI discovery will not work depending on how your network is configured and you may need to use another tool to get them to show up as sources. That tool is called Access Manager and is included with the NDI Tools. Using Access Manager, under Remote Sources, you can manually add the IP addresses of your cameras. That will force them to show up as NDI sources in Ecamm live. 2ff7e9595c
