Pomodoro Timer For Mac Free Download: Learn How to Use a Pomodoro Timer to Achieve More.

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method invented by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by 5 minutes breaks. Each cycle is known as a pomodoro, from the Italian word for tomato.

It is the nature of the human mind to roam about and sneak away from work. The Legend of Pomodoro (TLOP) implements a pomodoro timer gamified by an idle game environment, it creates a buffer zone between your focus and the outer world to avoid either getting tired or procrastination. Being different from traditional idle games, TLOP doesn't interrupt you from time to time during a pomodoro cycle. You'll become a legend in the virtual world while being concentrated on your real life tasks.

Pomodoro Timer For Mac Free Download

Focus Keeper is one of the leading free Pomodoro apps. The program has a built in task list so users can keep up with to-do lists while completing work sprints. The app comes with a standard Pomodoro timer, and users can upgrade to the pro version for customizable options. The app also contains tracker tools that tally up daily and weekly sessions and breaks, and with the pro version users can also view a breakdown of time devoted to specific tasks.

Designed to work in tandem with Trello, Pomello is one of the most useful Pomodoro timer extensions. The app turns Trello cards into Pomodoro tasks by assigning time blocks for each card, and adding cards for breaks so that users view rest time as productive time. The basic version is free, and the premium option is around two dollars a month.

Pomatez is a free and open source tool that provides users with the best basics for Pomodoro apps. The platform has customizable timers and task lists, and users can tweak the settings to further fit their needs, for instance, by enabling desktop notifications or minimizing the display. Workers can also program the app with keyboard shortcuts and voice assistance for seamless usage, as well as setting automatic timers. Workaholics can force themselves to take breaks by setting the app to take up full screen during downtime.

While Bear Focus Timer technically is not free, it is too cute not to include on this list. The cost to download the app is only $1.99. When in use, the app displays a whimsical black and white drawing of a bear named Tom who smiles when you stay on task, frowns when you get distracted, and hikes during breaks. A countdown clock gauges progress, and white noise plays to help with concentration. While most folks are not excited to whip out the Pomodoro clock, this app is sure to spark workday joy.

You use a timer to track intense distraction-free work sessions (traditionally 25 minutes long), combined into groups, and interspersed with short 5 minute breaks. Like this:

The number one app on the list, Focus Keeper, is also the most true to the original concept of the pomodoro timer. Once you open the app, the cheery red background and horizontal timer striations makes its purpose clear.

So instead I downloaded the similar-looking Plantie. A fun take on the standard timer app where your efficiency progress is represented by fruit growing on a little tree. Break the chain and your fruit goes away. Maintain a streak and you'll get coins for your effort that can be used to buy additional types of trees. There are also badges to collect.

If the idea of gamifying your task timer appeals to you, then Plantie is the one you need to download. The graphics are unlike the other timers on the list, and the idea that all those completed tasks will let you further customize the timer is much more incentivizing than a basic "pay for Pro" system.

To get your day going, click a task and the timer will start. You can customize the theme and sounds for free, but there are additional white noise and alarm sounds available by going premium. The additional premium features will also appeal to your A-type personality, synchronizing data, adding cloud backup, letting you add repeating tasks, reminders, detailed statistics, and more.

So we're heading to the next app on the list. And, what better way to end a list about pomodoro timer apps than with an app called Pomodoro? Pomodoro functions a little bit differently, in that it offers a wide variety of white noise sounds. There are also a variety of backgrounds and line colors to choose from. But, you guessed it, all that customization is locked behind a $2.99 paywall. 2ff7e9595c
